YHI began was inspired by a club at Mountain View High School called Hunger Aid. Hunger Aid’s mission to fight hunger, along with its service events and initiatives, grew beyond a single school and evolved into Youth Hunger Initiative (YHI). While YHI’s core values and volunteer projects remain rooted in those of Hunger Aid, YHI expands this impact by empowering students at schools everywhere to participate, lead their own chapters, and make a meaningful difference in their communities.
